Reporting to the clinical director, the Polysomnographic (PSG) Technologist will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. 

Responsibilities will include:

•Performs diagnostic testing in both adult and pediatric patient populations.
•Utilizing testing preparation procedures, including: calibration, electrode and censor application, and routine positive airway pressure titrations.
•Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and makes adjustments, if necessary.
•Documents routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
•Implement appropriate interventions including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic interventions.
•Scoring polysomnographic records by applying AASM professionally accepted guidelines and center-specific protocols.
•Performs routine equipment care, maintenance and inventory evaluation.
•Attending continuing education programs to maintain credentials and AASM accreditation.


•NYS license in Polysomnography or Registered Respiratory Therapy 
•Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT)
•Completion of a Certificate program in Polysomnography Technology or American Academy of Sleep Medicine A-Step training program or equivalent
•BLS or CPR/AED training, which will only be accepted from two organizations (AHA or American Red Cross, NO online programs from any organization will be accepted) 
•ACLS and PALS Credentials preferred, must be obtained within 3 months of hire
•Weekend and holiday rotation, as needed
